We are seriously thinking of retiring to Elliot Lake in about 1 year. My wife's health is not too good, so the wait to see Doctors is disconcerting. Is there any relief is sight??? Also, is ther a local newspaper we can access via the net???

moved up here 4 weeks ago and still think it will be great,but we do have one concern,no doctors are taking on any more patients untill october or november and you cannot put your name on a waiting list ,we have prescripions to refill so we feel lost

Great site. My wife and I are thinking of Elliot Lake for our retirement. Was through your town years ago for lunch while visiting mining properties with students from Queen's Mining. We would like to hear comments from new residents concerning their move to EL and how they settled in. The best to everyone!!!

As a miner's daughter, I lived in Elliot Lake from grade 4 to 12 and just wanted to say that looking at this site makes me miss it a bit. Guess I'll have to come back and visit once more. Cheers all.

We visited there on the May 24 weekend and it's the most beautiful place to "get away"! Some of our best friends (Brian & Marie Swierenga) moved there earlier this year and we went for a break. The Fire Tower Lookout is very "breath taking". We hope to visit them again around at Thanksgiving, turkey & all! Thank God for a beautiful place......

I heard a bried article i think on cbc about the best place to retire. I'm not quite reday to retire but I could move to Elliot Lake with my source of income. I am sick to death of big city living but really dislike the heat and humidity of southern Ontario. I lived in Northern BC for 8 years so I very understand cold and don't mind it. (weather is weather - just dress for it) I am just learning to use the internet so am exploring your web site. i hope to find out more about your community. I would be pleased to hear from anyone. I am a 46 year old social worker, who just buried my last parent. I have always lived as a pilgrim in this country and would seek and active spiritual life. I've never been married. I want to live in a place where I can have a birdfeeder and see the stars at night. I'd like to hear from anyone who actually gets this message.
